I’’m Watching for You,

This is me, Sal, and I’m on watch for you return tomorrow!  Granny says it won’t happen until toward evening, but I don’t want to miss you so I practiced today watching for you to come home.

Granny and I have had some good times, but there’s just no one who knows me like you do.  I’m very happy that you’ll be back tomorrow.

Tomorrow is going to be a very hot day. Granny said I should warn you guys that you’re coming home to 99 degrees. But, she said don’t worry. She’ll turn the air conditionaer on in the morning so we’ll be ready for you.

Granny told me that you are flying home.  The silly Granny. She thinks you are a bird.  Hahaha  silly Old lady.

Love,

Ridge

I Miss My Family

Ok. Listen Up. I’m getting tired of this Honeymoon thing. I miss you and I want you to come home.  Granny is nice, but she isn’t you, Sal and I really miss you.  Today Granny said I had a sad face.  It’s true.

Today I worked on my tan. Granny spent the late morning out in the gazebo writing in her notebook and she let me play in the grass. I like rolling in the grass. 🐾🐾

Granny and I are tired tonight so we’re going to bed early.  She says only two more days before you come home, but I think now that I’ve told you how much I miss you  that you will surprise me and be here when I wake up in the morning. A dog can always hope.

Your ever faithful and always optimistic,

Ridge🐾

I’ve Got a Bone to Pick with Sal.

Ok, Buster. I wanna know who this dog is, and I want to know right NOW!  How dare you go off with your new bride ( I mean that was bad enough since you left me at home); but then you make new four-legged friends right off them bat! What is going on?

You know I’ve taken quite a shine to a Granny and her friend, Sue has come to see me twice, so maybe I’ll just cozy up to the ladies and see if you get jealous.  How would you like that?!  One thing I can tell you is I haven’t kissed any other of those two-leggeds yet.  Looks as if you can’t say the same and here’s my proof!

So, I’m telling you this just once. What happens in Ireland MAY  not stay in Ireland,  so I think you need to get your booty home and start making up for  leaving me home with the old two-legged one …opps, I mean my loving Granny for almost two weeks.

You’ve  got, some explaining to do, Buster! And yes, I do accept make up gifts - preferably edible ones.

Your lovely, beautiful, awesome dog,

Ridge🐾

Sometimes We Sit

Sometimes Granny takes me out on the porch and combs my beautiful hair. Handfuls come out and she says she’s saving it for the birds to build nests next Spring. Humph. I don’t know how I feel about that.

Sometimes Granny takes me for walks and lets me do all the smelling I want. Except when crossing the streets. Then  she says “ Quickly! Quickly! And, we pick up the pace.

Sometimes Granny  let’s me snooze for hours, especially after our walks.  She just lets me “ be.” I like that. 😄

And sometimes, we just “ sit”. Side by side on the couch, we sit and watch TV. I like sitting with Granny. I do wish she’d watch something with dogs and not always that darned Midwife show!

I miss you Sal.💖 I miss you Shannon. 💖 Hurry home and change the TV station to a dog show!

Your most loving dog ever,

Ridge🐾

A Roll in the Grass

Sometimes nothing can beat a good roll in the grass.  That’s exactly what I did this afternoon!  I wiggled around like I had an itch that  I just couldn’t scratch.  Granny wanted to check my over to make sure I didn’t have a bite or something, but I just grinned at her and kept wiggling.  Yep. Sometimes there’s just nothing quite like a good roll in the grass!

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Your favorite canine and really good wiggler,

Ridge 🐾

Working on My Tan

It’s  a lazy day in Burien and I’m just working on my tan.  Occasionally I roll over to keep both sides matching. Besides, Granny says the sun will make my blond hairs shine!  But, I don’t know about that.  Tomorrow may be too hot for sun tanning. In fact Granny says she’ll test the asphalt and if it’s too hot we’ll just do “smelling circles” in the yard for our afternoon tromp.  Silly Granny.

Your adorable and very loving Retriever,

Ridge

Dog Noses

We dogs use our noses. The way something smells gives me more information than the way something looks, looks, feels, sounds, or tastes. I’m happy Granny understands and never gets impatient when we go on our morning and afternoon “ smellings “ She even encourages me ….or, maybe she is just wheezy from the hill we just trekked up?   Either way, I like to go smelling with my Granny.

This picture is so you won’t forget me while you are in I-er-land!  That’s where Granny told me you went and we are counting the days until you come back home where you belong.

Yup.  And that’s all I have to say about that.

Your loving and loyal,
Ridge🐾
